What is wireless EEG?

A wireless EEG system records brain electrical activity without cables, using standard EEG electrodes and a compact amplifier that transmits data in real time — to a laptop, tablet, or smartphone. Mobile EEG has historically been associated with low channel counts and limited signal fidelity — Smarting systems challenge that assumption directly, delivering signal quality (common mode rejection over 140dB) that closes the gap with traditional wired setups. Smarting S – 16ch – 250-500 Hz

Smarting S is mbt’s entry-level wireless EEG system — and a serious research tool. Weighing under 70 grams with a 16-channel recording cap, Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity, and over 10 hours of battery life, it’s designed for researchers who need reliable, high-quality EEG data outside the lab without complex setup. Smarting PRO – 32ch – 250-2000 Hz

Smarting PRO is the all-rounder. While Smarting S is your entry point into mobile EEG, PRO takes it further — 32 channels, sampling rates up to 2000 Hz, and a built-in 9D motion sensor that tracks every movement in real time. It streams live to your PC or Android phone, records to internal memory for offline use, and switches seamlessly between indoor, outdoor, and hyperscanning modes. The same device has been used in research aboard the International Space Station. Whatever your study design, Smarting PRO is built to handle it.

Smarting PRO X – 64ch – 250-4000 Hz

When 32 channels aren’t enough, PRO X takes over. Built on the same architecture as Smarting PRO, the PRO X doubles the channel count to 64, adds 8 configurable ExG inputs, and pushes sampling rates up to 4000 Hz on internal memory — all without giving up the mobility the PRO line is known for. For researchers running high-density source localisation studies, complex multimodal setups, or anything that demands maximum data resolution in the field, PRO X sets a new benchmark for portable EEG.
